Meetings
The Friends hold an Open Committee Meeting, to which anyone can come, approximately every two months. They are usually held in the Town Council Chambers (Town Hall), generally on a Wednesday, 7pm. The Agenda reflects current concerns and issues. Minutes are sent out to members who cannot attend, and act as a sort of ‘newsletter’.
The next Friends of the Wilderness Group meeting is going to be on Tuesday 3rd of September 2019 at 6 pm, Skipton Town Council Offices rooms in the Town Hall, 1st floor.

Operation Snowdrop
A small, but dedicated team of volunteers worked hard in the sunshine on 4 March 2014 to lift more than 1,000 snowdrops from the ‘High Trees’ site on The Bailey in Skipton (being redeveloped by Bentleys Engineering) and transplant them in The Wilderness. The snowdrops will, once established, form a carpet of flowers for visitors to The Wilderness to enjoy for many years to come.

Finishing off the Dead Hedge.
Open Air Classroom
The completed dead hedge, giving some shelter to the 'Open Air Classroom' used by visiting children. However its main purpose is to deter people and dogs from racing up and down the bare banking. We hope we can encourage plant growth there.
